iPhone & iPod Touch: How to Jailbreak Firmware 3.1.3

When you update the  firmware 3.1.3 for iPod Touch and the iPhone for a jailbroken device  oreven if it is  unlocked, you should remember that with each firmware Update you lose the benefit of the jailbreak.  Currently there is no universal solution to unlock and jailbreak an iPhone version 3.1.3. Here is an overview of what is available.

Here is how you can  to redo a jailbreak in some cases, through the tool RedSnow the Dev Team:

• For  iPhone 2G or iPod Touch 1st generation, it’s OK for both jailbreak  via RedSnow 0.9.3 for Mac or Windows
• For iPhone 3G, attention, the jailbreak is also possible with RedSnow 0.9.3, but not Réparation Déblocage!
• If you have an iPod Touch 2G, you can use to RedSnow 0.9.4 Mac or Windows
• Finally, for the 3GS iPhone or Touch iPods other than the first generation, it will have to wait and be patient, there is no announced date of release yet.

To RedSnow via the jailbreak, so just download the version for the device to unlock and follow the software instructions. Note that when RedSnow asks you to indicate the firmware to use, you must provide the firmware 3.1.2 (not the firmware 3.1.3, yes I know it’s weird!)

You did well  . The official recommendation of the strong dev team is not doing this update because it adds nothing vital. If you still want to absolutely make this update, then it will go through the latest version of PwnageTool for Mac (ie the Version 3.1.5 available here).

If you have an iPhone 3GS, then you must make sure first to have made a backup of your files “SHSH hashes through Cydia utility, allowing you to revert to firmware 3.1.2 in case of trouble with this update. To this backup, if you have not yet done, just launch Cydia and click on “Make my life easier, thanks. This saves your number ECID servers Cydia and needs to be done only once. That you will be able to make a jailbreak again with each new firmware version of the iPhone 3GS.
